How To Make Sugar Pecans

Can I Use Other Nuts

As you now know, pecans are my absolute favorite. The cracks and crevices hold onto this sugary mixture so well to give you maximum crunch. That being said, you’re free to experiment with other types of nuts! Try: Walnuts, Almonds, Cashews, or Peanuts! Keep in mind that different nuts will give you slightly different results. If you use a different type, make sure to keep a close eye on them as they bake.

How Do You Serve These Sugar Pecans?

While I enjoy these by the handful as a snack, these can also be used to top desserts, or to make delicious sundaes! They are ideal to give for holiday gifts as well!

Storing

Make sure the sugar pecans have fully cooled down to room temperature before storing. You can leave them covered or uncovered at room temperature for 1 week.

Freezing

If you store them in the fridge or freezer, it’s best to seal them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They will last 3 weeks in the fridge or 2 months frozen. They’re a fantastic treat straight from the freezer! Otherwise, you can spread them out flat on the counter, a plate, or cutting board. They’ll thaw completely in 10-20 minutes.
