While you can certainly combine any fruits you love in a smoothie, this recipe will give you an easy starting point. The liquid-to-frozen-fruit ratio will give you the perfect texture and delicious results every time. If you want to add in any extras to make it more filling, it’s easy to do that, too.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Frozen pineapple and banana are all you’ll need for the base of this smoothie recipe. Orange juice adds a tangy sweet flavor, and you can use any milk you love for creaminess. (Coconut milk or almond milk will keep it dairy-free.) You won’t need any added honey or maple syrup for sweetness in this case, but you can always swap the frozen fruit and juice you use. Try pineapple juice instead of OJ, or add in some frozen mango or strawberries as a swap for some of the frozen pineapple chunks.  You can also add chia seeds, vanilla Greek yogurt, or a scoop of protein powder for a boost of protein or fiber. You can also add a big handful of spinach to make it a green smoothie.  It’s easy to taste and adjust the flavoring as you go.

How to Make a Pineapple Smoothie

In a high-speed blender, combine the frozen pineapple, frozen banana, orange juice, and milk of choice. Secure the lid and blend until smooth.  Stop and scrape down the sides of your machine, if needed. Taste the smoothie and make any adjustments you like.  Once the smoothie is blended, pour it into a glass and serve right away. It makes a nutrient-rich snack or it can turn into a meal when you add extra protein.  Looking for more smoothie recipes? Try my Spinach Smoothie, Kale Smoothie, or fresh Watermelon Smoothie for more ideas.  If you try this Pineapple Smoothie recipe, please leave a comment and star rating below letting me know how you like it.
