Be sure to try my roasted green beans, carrots, and broccoli next!

I could eat roasted Brussels Sprouts like it was popcorn, I’m not kidding. TIP!– Don’t skip the additional drizzle of honey. It really makes this recipe! An addition of garlic and bacon is always an option too! (mmm… bacon.)

Temperature for Roasting Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts roast best in a 450° oven. After the first 15 minutes, it’s important to check on them every 3-5 minutes to ensure that they reach a dark brown without burning.

If Using Darker Baking Sheets

Darker baking sheets cook faster, especially on the outside. You may want to move the middle ones on the outside, and vice versa, halfway through.

Give Them Space

Be sure not to overlap the brussels sprouts and give them plenty of room to breathe on the baking sheet, otherwise they will steam instead of roast.

Do You Cut End Off Brussels Sprouts?

If the bottom of the brussels sprouts are brown, you can slice just the end of the tip off. Leaving the remainder of the tip will keep the leaves on, but it’ll give them a cleaner look.

Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Bacon adds an additional element of flavor and texture to roasted brussels sprouts. It’s a good idea to cook the bacon first and reserve the bacon grease to toss the Brussels Sprouts prior to roasting. Roughly chop the bacon and sprinkle it over the brussels sprouts after roasting, just before serving.

Brussels Sprouts with Garlic

If you choose to add garlic, add about 5 cloves that have been generously tossed in oil and a little salt. Add them after the first 15 minutes of cooking, after you’ve flipped them over.
