That’s what you can do with an air fryer, and that’s why everyone loves it. This blog post will show you how easy it is to air-fry mushrooms to perfection. We think the best air fryer mushrooms recipe is the simplest recipe. To make them, you’ll only need a few pantry staples and a lot less time than roasting mushrooms in the oven. And the result is the same, if not better. You’ll love this easy air fryer mushroom recipe if you are a mushroom lover like us. You can eat them as a vegetable side dish, as a starter on crostini or bruschetta, or add them to pasta salad, farro salad, rice salad, barley salad, couscous salad, and more.
Olive oil
Go for extra virgin olive oil if you can; it has a fruitier flavor, is heart-healthy, and is stable at high temperatures thanks to its high amount of antioxidants. Alternatively, you can use regular olive oil, avocado oil, or canola oil.
Garlic
Garlic and mushrooms are perfect together. You can use fresh garlic cloves, crushed. Or you can toss the mushrooms in garlic powder. We prefer to make this recipe without onions or onion powder as the garlic adds enough flavor.
Salt and pepper
We use sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Parsley
Flat-leaf parsley is a perfect flavor match with roasted mushrooms. Get some, finely chop it, and sprinkle on top after the mushrooms are cooked.
Optional ingredients
For a more robust savory flavor, add a tablespoon of reduced sodium soy sauce, tamari sauce, or coco aminos for gluten-free when you toss the mushrooms. If you like lemon, you can garnish the plate with a few lemon wedges to squeeze some fresh lemon juice right before eating them. Chop the larger mushrooms in half or quarters, keep the smaller ones whole, then add them to a mixing bowl. Season with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, and toss well. Preheat your air fryer for 3 minutes at 400°F or 200°C. Transfer mushrooms to the air fryer basket and air fry for about 15 minutes until brown. You don’t have to arrange the mushrooms on a single layer or cook them in batches. Air fryers are designed to push the hot air through the layers. What’s essential is to shake the air fryer basket every 5 minutes to ensure even roasting. Depending on the size of the mushrooms and your air fryer model, you might need a few more minutes. Taste one to make sure they are cooked. Transfer mushrooms onto a serving platter and garnish with chopped flat-leaf parsley.
