Easy Denver Omelette Recipe

Imagine waking up to the aroma of eggs, ham, bell peppers, and onions dancing together in a hot skillet with melty cheese! That’s a Denver Omelette for you! Then pair it with some fluffy homemade buttermilk biscuits and crispy hash browns, and your taste buds will be singing all day!

Eggs: Serve as the primary ingredient and the foundation of the Omelette.  Salt and Pepper: Essential seasonings that elevate the flavor of all the ingredients. Milk: Adds creaminess and makes the eggs light and fluffy. Butter: It prevents the eggs from sticking to the skillet and adds a rich buttery taste. Onion and Bell Pepper: Sauteed onions and green bell peppers add depth and a touch of texture.  Ham: Imparts a salty and smoky meaty element to the Omelette. Cheddar Cheese: Known for its sharp, tangy flavor, cheddar also adds a gooey contrast to the fluffy eggs.

You don’t have to take a trip to your favorite breakfast spot to enjoy an Omelette. You can easily make one right in your own kitchen. From the whisking to the cooking and flipping, this easy recipe will guide you through the process. Begin by whisking your eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper together in a medium bowl. Then set the mixture aside for now. Next, place a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Then add the butter and let it melt so that you can use it to coat the bottom of the pan. After you’ve coated the pan in butter, add the diced onion and bell pepper and saute them for about 3 to 4 minutes to soften. Next, toss in the diced ham and saute for another 2 minutes. Then transfer the ham and veggie mixture to a plate and set it aside.  Now, reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the egg mixture into the same skillet. Then once the eggs begin to set around the edges, sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the surface of your Omelette. Now, just let the cheese melt into the eggs as they continue to cook. Once your cheese has melted, place the ham and veggie mixture on the surface of one side of your Omelette. Then carefully fold the other half over the filling. Now, slide your finished Denver Omelette onto a plate and serve it with a dollop of sour cream, side of salsa, and some warm tortillas if you like!

Storage

If you have any leftover Denver Omelette, you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply pop it in the microwave or toaster oven for a few minutes. It’s also possible to freeze it for up to 3 months.
