Hey guys! I have a great recipe for you guys today that you and your children will love. These rolls are filled with an easy to make but super tasty beef and mushroom filling and a piece of cheddar cheese in each one. Beef and cheddar, great combo and all rolled into a bread roll. I love these frozen dinner rolls, I find them very versatile. I cheated a bit here because I used frozen bread rolls. Don’t hate me, I have many recipes here to make your own bread rolls, but this time I cheated. I’m not perfect! You don’t have to be either. That’s what makes these rolls so great. They’re super fast to make and you will still be the heroine (or hero) in the kitchen. The kitchen will smell like freshly baked bread and those herbs, oh those herbs.
What Is Pull Apart Bread?
Pull apart bread was designed to be shared with a crowd, I mean look at it! It’s just waiting for hungry little hands to reach in and grab some of those perfectly filled bread rolls. This dish is nice and versatile and can accommodate many a delicious veggie, so if you’d like to sneak some goodies in, this is the appy to do it with!
Ingredients
Filling
Olive oil – We want something nice and neutral to brown our ground beef in. Beef – Ground beef, I used regular fat today so that there’s some liquid to saute our veggies in later. Veggies – White onion and mushrooms. Herbs – Dried basil and dried oregano, this will allow for great flavor concentration and to ensure our herbs don’t burn. Garlic – We’re just using garlic powder today, fresh garlic may burn in this dish and give our dish burnt bitterness! Sauce – Pizza sauce to ensure our filling is nice and saucy, tomatoey and complex. Seasoning – Salt and pepper.
Rolls
Rolls – 1 bag of frozen bread rolls, there’s usually about 20 in a bag so aim for that quantity. Cheese – Fresh cheddar cut up into bite sized cubes. Butter – Unsalted as we need to control the sodium content of our dish. Herbs – Dried basil and fresh parsley chopped up fine. Seasoning – Use some seasoning salt for this component of the dish. Sauce – Use the rest of your pizza sauce for dipping.
What Else Can I Add?
Consider this dip a blank canvas for any and all toppings that get your mouth watering. This is a great way to hide those veggies for kids, they won’t even taste them in here.

Leftovers
You can keep them right in the skillet and just wrap the rolls with plastic wrap, then refrigerate for up to 3 days. When serving again, you can place the skillet directly in the oven for a few more minutes to heat them through.
Make ahead
These are great to make ahead, especially since we’re using frozen rolls. So prepare them as you would then wrap the skillet tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until next day when ready to bake them and serve. You can even freeze them like that for up to a month.
