The Easiest Apple Pie Taquitos
Because it’s a weekday, let’s celebrate with something sweet, why not. And because these apple pie taquitos are so easy to make, that you can make them on a weekday, in the morning, after work, whatever strikes your fancy. But even better than that, these taquitos are so good, you’ll thank me. These taquitos are great because they only require 5 simple ingredients; apple pie filling, sugar, cinnamon, butter and tortillas. All the makings of a great apple pie, but in an adorable taquito form. I have to admit the idea is simply genius. Start by heating your oven to 350℉. Grab your 9×13-inch baking dish and give it a good brush with some of the melted butter. In a shallow plate, mix together the sugar and cinnamon until well combined. Take your can of apple pie filling and spread it out on a cutting board. Chop the apples into smaller pieces—this makes them easier to distribute and roll up in the tortillas. Lay a tortilla flat on your work surface. Spoon a couple of tablespoons of the chopped apple pie filling near the edge, then roll the tortilla tightly to encase the filling. Keep the seam side down to prevent unrolling. Now, brush each rolled taquito with some melted butter, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated. Arrange the taquitos in your prepared baking dish. They should fit snugly but not be overcrowded. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until they start to turn golden brown on top. Serve these hot and crispy Apple Pie Taquitos as they are or drizzle with some caramel sauce for an extra decadent touch.
Storing Leftovers
You can store these for up to 3 days sealed in an airtight container. Warm in the microwave or reheat in the oven before eating.
